Praise for the Land

Inviting The Conversation rents space and makes professional offerings in Oregon City, on land that was taken unjustly—by manipulation and force—from various tribes now gathered as the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians, and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. ITC supports the Oregon Land Justice movement, which acknowledges a collective obligation to the Earth and which supports the sovereignty and access of the First Nations. Ownership of the Earth is a collective delusion. We are all here by the grace of the land.

Upcoming Offerings

Imagine the feeling of relief that would flood our whole being if we knew that when we were in the grip of sorrow or illness, our village would respond to our need. This would not be out of pity, but out of a realization that every one of us will take our turn at being ill, and we will need one another. -Francis Weller
